The Locust Plague

$7,000.00
Acquired

Designed in collaboration with Karl Sanders of Nile, The Locust Plague is purpose built to withstand the crushing and unique playstyle that is Karl’s.

A main feature of this guitar is a large sloped bevel across the entire bass side of the guitar, giving the wrist room to sit in a neutral position while playing.

The neck was designed around its fully scalloped ebony fretboard from the start. The ebony began at 0.300 inch rather than 0.250 inch, with the same 0.050 inch removed from the neck beneath it to preserve the original overall neck thickness and profile. The scallops are roughly 0.100 inch deep, leaving about 0.200 inch of solid ebony beneath their deepest point. The thicker fretboard works together with the laminated neck and graphite reinforcement to preserve useful stiffness.

The specs are as follows:

-Mahogany Body and Redwood front and back

-Maple/Purpleheart/Anigre laminate neck reinforced with graphite in a scuffed satin finish.

-Fully scalloped, compound radius ebony fretboard with a subtle 27"-26.5" scale lengths

-Brass nut, gold Hipshot hardware, Evo gold frets.

-Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups
